Live Adventurously, Let Your Life Speak
Friends and attenders are warmly invited to a Quaker Discussion Weekend on the theme “Live Adventurously, Let Your Life Speak” at Newtown School, Waterford, on Friday 28th October 2011 to Sunday 30th October 2011.
Please complete the booking form if you want to attend.
We will explore how past Friends and others have embodied the idea of “living adventurously” in their own lives, what it means to “live adventurously” from a spiritual point of view in our modern age, and the meaning of the theme for our own lives and the lives of our Meetings.
Discussion Weekend Events
The weekend will include panel discussions, small group discussions, and worship-sharing. There will also be contemplative activities, such as a meditative walk and guided relaxation, and various social activities, such as a table quiz and an adventurous evening of entertainment.
The Weekend will start with an evening meal on Friday at 18.00 and end after Lunch on Sunday at about 14.30.
Arrangements to Attend
We expect the cost of the Weekend to be about €60 per person, including meals and accommodation. We encourage those who would like to come, but who might find it difficult to pay for the Weekend and/or travel costs, to be in touch with the Elders, Overseers or the Clerk of their local Meeting to explore possible sources of financial assistance.
A more detailed programme and application forms will be available closer to the event.
We hope that many of you will find this weekend of interest – if you’re not sure a Quaker Discussion Weekend is your thing, why not live adventurously and give it a try?
