There are Junior/Children’s Meetings (also sometimes called Sunday school) in a number of Quaker Meetings in Ireland. The information about individual Meetings for Worship given on this website will tell you whether a particular Quaker Meeting runs a Junior/Children’s Meeting.
Usually, the children spend some quiet time in the Meeting for Worship – typically about 10-15 minutes at the beginning or end. During the remainder of the Meeting for Worship, the children are taken out for a variety of activities, which may include reading, telling stories, discussing a range of topics of a spiritual or other suitable nature, drawing, painting, handcraft, singing, short plays, etc. All activities involving children and young people are conducted in accordance with our Child Safeguarding Policy and associated appendices.
