IYM’s Youth Support Worker, Kit Harty (Limerick Meeting) officially started in their post as of May 1, 2024. The post is intended to promote, support and facilitate youth work within the Society of Friends in Ireland.
Generally speaking, Kit will be providing connectivity and support to young people and adult Friends working with young people in their local Meetings, and also providing access to resources and information for these same groups. If you’d like to be on an email list to receive information about upcoming youth events, etc, please let Kit know at YouthSupport@quakers.ie.
Kit is running monthly Zoom sessions for Young Friends aged 11-18. They currently run from 7.00-8.30pm on a Sunday evening about once a month. Come along for Quaker games, discussions and to meet other Young Friends from across Ireland! The dates for the next few sessions are 8th June, 6th July and 10th August. Dates for future sessions will be included in the list of upcoming youth events distributed to the email list.
