UNICEF Photography Exhibition of life for children in Gaza

The photography exhibition A QUESTION MARK HANGS OVER GAZA is a poignant exhibition of life for children in Gaza. The exhibition in its physical format will journey across different countries in 2025.

Supported by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and produced by UNICEF, this photo exhibition showcases the situation of Palestinian children as seen through the lenses of those who meet them daily. It sheds light on the critical need for a ceasefire and a just and lasting solution for all children in the region. It also highlights the critical support provided by ECHO and UNICEF.

The exhibition will be on display until 12 August at The Gallery at The Complex, 21 Arran Street East, Dublin 7. You can find more information and a link to the exhibition website in this flyer.

Public Silent Quaker Peace Witness (Saturday Aug 2)

Dublin Monthly Meeting Peace Committee plans to hold another Silent Quaker Peace Witness on Saturday Aug 2 from 11.30am to 12.30pm, outside the gates of St Stephen’s Green at the top of Grafton St, Dublin. Friends from all Meetings, and their friends, are once again very welcome.

We plan to hold it in the form of a Meeting for Worship as we
stand on the street, with 2 Friends holding a banner which reads
“Quaker Peace Witness” and with two being available with
leaflets to speak with any passer-by who wishes to ask a
question or interact.

We hope that our silent worship will encourage many people to
consider peace and how we may all help to advance it. We
hope that Friends and Attenders from many Meetings, as well as
family members and friends will again come and join us.

DAQC Summer Social at Killiney Beach (Aug. 9)

Members, Attenders, families and friends are invited to a Dublin Area Quaker Community Summer Social.

The meeting point is the green space beside the Lifeguard Hut at 11.30am. Look out for the DAQC blue banner.

Swim for those who wish or a stroll along the beach. Bring a picnic and your chair or blanket.

We encourage Friends to use public transport where possible.

If the weather isn’t suitable, we will hop on the dart to Bray.

You can find more information on this flyer about the event.

Remembering Rathfarnham Meeting (Email deadline July 31, gathering 13th Sept.)

You may already be aware that the decision has been made to lay down Rathfarnham Preparative Meeting with effect from 30th September 2025.

Friends are asked to recall their memories of Rathfarnham Meeting. A dedicated email account has been set up for this purpose: rathfarnhammemories@gmail.com.

We hope that Friends will share their memories, whether in the form of photographs, drawing/painting, poetry, or other writing. If sending images, please insert the date, occasion and identity of the figures in the photographs. We have set a deadline of 31st July for email submissions.

A Gathering of Friends will take place on Saturday 13th September in Rathfarnham Meeting House (further details to follow separately but save the date!). We encourage everyone to bring along photographs or memorabilia they may have, to display on tables for all attendees to view.

It is intended to compile writings and images into a Memory Book and make it available to Friends at the end of 2025.

We look forward to receiving and sharing your memories. You can spread the word to those who may be interested using this flyer.
