The Epistle from the Quaker Council of European Affairs General Assembly, held on Friday the 14th and Saturday, the 15th of November 2025 in Brussels, is now available here.

Greetings from FWCC Europe and Middle East Section! We are writing to ask you and your meetings to join us in a special campaign to support participation at the Europe & Middle East Young Friends (EMEYF)-EMES All Age Gathering, which will be held on the 8-15 August 2026, at Haus Altenberg, near Cologne in Germany.

We hope all Friends who want to attend will be able to – we don’t want the cost to stop anyone from participating.

EMES is all about bringing Friends together to build community. We need your help to make the gathering accessible to everyone who wants to come.

There will be an Irish Quaker Faith in Action (IQFA) Sale in Monkstown Meeting House on Saturday 6th December from 11am – 3pm. This is a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping, meet F/friends old and new, and help raise lots of money to support worthy causes near and far!

You can help spread the word with others using this two-page flyer! We hope to see your families, friends and neighbours too!

Donations! We welcome donations of art, crafts, good quality books and toys, indoor plants, cakes and home produce. We will not be accepting donations of CDs, DVDs, clothes or bric-a-brac (crockery, furniture etc.). We will be accepting good quality current books only; books that are likely to be of interest to others. 20 books maximum donation per person.

Donations can be left into Monkstown Meeting House 6-9pm on Friday 5th December or 9-10am Saturday 6th December.

Parking! Please note there will only be a couple of parking places in the meeting house grounds, which will be strictly reserved for people with mobility issues. There is plenty of on-street parking on nearby roads, but please note you will need to pay via cash or app (the parking machines do not accept credit cards).

Thank you to everyone who has been busy crafting, knitting, making cards, jam and chutney, and to all those who are planning what to bake nearer the time. The Sale couldn’t take place without you!

It’s not too late to offer to help! Please contact Fiona Murdoch through the Office (office@quakers.ie) if you can help on a stall or help with setting up the night before, or clearing away Saturday afternoon.

There will be a Quaker Open Afternoon at the Kinlough Community Centre from 3.00-5.00pm on Sunday 7 December.

This event provides a space where inquirers can find out more about Quaker Spirituality, and, if they wish, experience a short silent Meeting.

The Presidential Inauguration, which took place on Tuesday 11 November, included an ecumenical service, in which the Religious Society of Friends in Ireland was invited to take part.

Irish Quakers were represented by Denise Gabuzda, who read the following prayer for civil authorities:

“May God bless all those who hold public office. We are thankful to them for undertaking these responsibilities, and striving to serve us with integrity and respect for all. May they seek God’s guidance in their work and know our support as they represent us. With rapid and at times alarming changes taking place worldwide, we pray that their decisions will have a positive effect on both our environment and the sustainability of the whole world. May our country and island be blessed with peace, and may our government find creative ways to help bring peace to the many parts of the world where there is war. We pray that Oireachtas members will continually strive to make Ireland a country of inclusion, equality, justice and peace, addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, and that they will be proactive in promoting these goals at European and International level. “

Join Friends from around the world for worship hosted by FWCC Asia West Pacific Section. All are welcome.

This meeting is the last of four Global Online Worships planned for 2025, each one hosted by a different FWCC Section, to strengthen and expand the hybrid Quaker community that emerged at the World Plenary Meeting last year. The good news is that we have agreed to continue with these quarterly global meetings for worship in 2026!
